How To Care For
Your New Tattoo
- Remove bandage after 2–4 hours. If bandage
sticks to tattoo, wet the area with luke–warm water and
slide the bandage off.
- Wash the area gently with mild antibacterial
soap and water. Using clean hands, make sure to remove
all excess ointment, blood and ink. Pat dry with a clean
towel. DO NOT SCRUB.
- Apply a VERY THIN LAYER of bacitracin
or A&D ointment 2–3 times a day for 2–3 days. After
that, apply a mild fragrance-free moisturizing lotion until
the tattoo settles into the skin (3weeks to one month).
Curel or Lubriderm work well.
- You do not have to re-bandage your tattoo
NO SUN for 2 weeks. NO SWIMMING or SOAKING
for 2 weeks, showers are fine and will help to keep area
clean. NO SCRATCHING OR PICKING YOUR TATTOO.
Your Tattoo may peel for a while, this is just old skin and
excess ink and is a normal part of the healing process.
